Underground Pipe Pulling – Boise, ID

One of our trenchless pipe solutions is underground pipe pulling which limits the disruption of the top layer.  Machines are used to penetrate  the top layer of soil and inserting the pipe into the ground at the appropriate depth.  The result is a simple slice in the ground instead of a large trench.

Pipe Bursting – Boise, ID

 What Is Pipe Bursting?

Pipe bursting is another trenchless sewer pipe repair technique involving the fracturing and expansion of the existing buried sewer line while simultaneously replacing it with new high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes.

This method of sewer repair eliminates the need for additional chemicals or contaminants. Paired with the long lifespan of environmentally-friendly HDPE pipes, pipe bursting is widely regarded as a highly sustainable approach to sewer replacement.

Pipe bursting is executed by pulling an expander head, also known as a “bursting head” or a “bullet,” through the old pipe. The head, sized to fit within the existing pipe, fractures it as it is drawn through.

Attached to the rear of the head is the new pipe, which is dragged and positioned behind it during the process.

A pulling machine applies force, powered by a hydraulic system connected to pulling rods, which in turn are attached to the expander head. This machine is lowered into the receiving pit, initiating the head’s journey from the launching or insertion pit.

The cost for pipe bursting sewer replacement services varies based on several factors:

– Depth and length of the existing pipe
– Extent of damage
– Location of the sewer lateral on the property
– Presence of nearby structures built into the property’s foundation
– Proximity to other underground utilities
– Number of branch connections, off-set joints, or sinkholes
– Slope adjustment requirements
– Connection to neighboring properties
– Type of materials needed
– Traffic control and permits for working in public right-of-way
– Surface restoration needs, including higher-end materials like flagstone or tiles and complex irrigation systems.

– Clean and sanitary compared to conventional methods
– Minimal disruption to surface environments; concrete, landscaping, and other structures remain undisturbed during the process.
